    Abstract: "Introduction to The Cambridge Companion to Jewish Theology Steven Kepnes The reader will find here, in this Cambridge Companion to Jewish Theology, essays by leading Jewish Studies scholars that display the Jewish theological tradition as long, sustained, complex, and deep. This collection aims to show this with essays that cover the full historical span of Judaism from the Biblical through to the contemporary periods. Each essay is a gem filled with not only an overview of a topic that employs and reviews the best in contemporary scholarship, but also brings important new insights to it. One thing that will become obvious for the reader is the variety of theological approaches that Jews have taken to presenting and understanding God. For example, on the crucial issue of revelation, Alan Brill presents us with seven models of revelation in modern Jewish theology. I should also say, from the outset, that Jewish theology encompasses not only the issue of the nature of God but also the dynamic of inter-relations between God and humans and God and the world. I have attempted to focus the attention of my authors mainly on God but, quite naturally, a number of authors also discuss the relations between God and humans, God and the world.     Abstract: Der Beitrag wagt einen Rückblick auf die Entwicklungen im Bereich der Bildungsarbeit zur jüdischen Geschichte und Kultur in Sachsen in den letzten 30 Jahren. Ausgehend von einer Bestandsaufnahme von aktuell existierenden Initiativen, Vereinen und Projekten rund um das Themenfeld wird dargestellt, wie sich die Bildungs- und Vermittlungsarbeit in Sachsen entwickelt haben. Welche Einflussfaktoren haben eine Rolle gespielt und welche Entwicklungspotenziale können benannt werden? Im Beitrag werden fünf Cluster herausgearbeitet und vorgestellt. Eine große Anzahl von Initiativen legt den Schwerpunkt auf die Auseinandersetzung mit der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus und das Gedenken an die Opfer der Shoa. Die Form dieses Gedenkens ist wiederum sehr vielfältig: Biografische und lokal- historische Vermittlungsformate finden sich ebenso wie zahlreiche Musikprojekte. Daran anschließende und sich teilweise in der Zielsetzung überschneidende Initiativen widmen sich der Bekämpfung und der Prävention von Antisemitismus. Bis auf wenige Ausnahmen liegt der Fokus jedoch sehr stark auf dem Themenfeld Nationalsozialismus und Shoa. Wünschenswert wäre es, dass die Auseinandersetzung mit jüdischer Geschichte noch facettenreicher wird. Im Bereich der Kultur sind die Angebote und Initiativen sehr vielfältig: Von Essen über Theater bis Sport ist alles dabei. Hinzu kommen Angebote der jüdischen Community, die nach innen und nach außen wirken.

    Abstract: Die Verfolgung der jüdischen Bürger während der nationalsozialistischen Herrschaft ging einher mit dem Raub ihres Eigentums, der von alltäglichen Haushaltsgegenständen über Kunstwerke, Geld- und Anlagevermögen sowie Immobilien bis hin zu ihren Firmen reichte. Am Raub und der Bereicherung waren neben den Funktionären der NSDAP zahlreiche weitere Personengruppen und Institutionen beteiligt, darunter staatliche und kommunale Behörden, vor allem die Finanzverwaltung und Museen, Kunsthistoriker, Kunsthändler, Firmeninhaber und Angestellte sowie Arbeitskollegen und Nachbarn. Die Restitution des Eigentums der Verfolgten nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs war für die Berechtigten schmerzvoll, das Ergebnis selten befriedigend. Oft mussten sie die Verfolgung erneut durchleben. Häufig waren ihre Verhandlungspartner die Täter, die ihre eigene Rolle im Raubgeschehen verharmlosten, im Extremfall sogar Beweismaterial zurückhielten oder die Berechtigten schlichtweg anlogen. An Beispielen überwiegend aus Schwaben, darunter aus Augsburg und Memmingen, werden in diesem Band solche Raubszenarien und die Restitution vorgestellt. Akteure werden benannt, Abläufe rekonstruiert, darüber hinaus wird die Quellenlage für die Raub- und Restitutionsforschung in Bayerisch-Schwaben vorgestellt.     Abstract: Gegen das Vergessen: Der Holocaust aus der Sicht eines Opfers des Nationalsozialismus Was mit der Wannseekonferenz begann, die die Organisation der Deportation und des Massenmords an den europäischen Juden beschloss, durchlitt Filip Müller (1922 - 2013) wie kaum ein anderer. Wer wie er KZ und Zwangsdienst im Sonderkommando Auschwitz-Birkenau mehr als drei Jahre er- und überlebt hat, der gehört zu den wichtigsten Zeugen des Grauens des Holocaust - und ist für sein Leben gezeichnet. 1979/80 veröffentlichte er seinen Zeugen-Bericht »Sonderbehandlung« auf Deutsch. Erschütternd, schonungslos und mit geradezu literarischer Wucht erzählt er von seiner Lagerzeit, beschreibt Täter und Opfer und gibt den Blick frei ins Herz der Finsternis. Ein Buch wie eine Mahnung, den Genozid an den europäischen Juden nie zu vergessen Nur wenige Menschen, die so lange in Auschwitz interniert waren, überlebten Filip Müller trat als einziger Zeuge für die Unmenschlichkeit des Systems der Sonderkommandos in Claude Lanzmanns Film »Shoah« auf Ein schonungsloser Bericht über die Unmenschlichkeit des NS-Regimes Eines der wichtigsten Zeugnisse des Völkermords an den Juden nach über 40 Jahren als kommentierte Neuausgabe Augenzeugenbericht eines Holocaust-Überlebenden, der sprachlos zurücklässt »Sonderbehandlung« von Filip Müller ist die erste authentische Gesamtdarstellung der Geschichte des Sonderkommandos. Wer ihn, als einzigen Zeugen des Sonderkommandos, in Claude Lanzmanns Film Shoah gesehen hat, vergisst sein Gesicht, seine Stimme nicht. Nach der Veröffentlichung 1980 gab es massive Bedrohungen durch Alt- und Neo-Nazis, so dass Müller nie einer deutschen Neuausgabe zustimmt. Erst zum 100. Geburtstag 2022 machte seine Familie eine neue, kommentierte Ausgabe möglich. Die historische Bedeutung des Buchs von Filip Müller kann kaum überschätzt werden!
