Arte israeliana: sintesi di cultura Dall'apertura dell'Accademia d'Arte Bezalel a Gerusalemme nel 1906, l'arte israeliana, alla ricerca di una sua identità, è andata incontro al mondo diventando uno dei centri del dibattito artistico internazionale. Israele oggi è un laboratorio di sintesi fra culture di tutto il mondo alla continua ricerca di un equilibrio tra l'Occidente e il Medio Oriente, oltre che tra le molteplici tensioni creative interne e la continua immigrazione che ha dato vita al Paese. In un secolo di vita, tuttavia, l'arte israeliana, pur nella varietà d'ispirazione, ha trovato la propria essenza, dando alle proprie produzioni un'impronta originale e un carattere comune. Questo spesso racconta i luoghi, la società, la storia politica e religiosa del Paese, dimostrando come le difficoltà possano incrementare la creatività, ma in molti casi rappresenta semplicemente lo sforzo creativo di esprimere le grandi tematiche dell'arte e dell'uomo. Israele è terra di luce, di profumi, di passioni. È culla della storia e trampolino del futuro, catalizzatore di energie, concentrato di spiritualità e pragmatismo, tradizione e innovazione. Custode della memoria, propulsore di idee. Non solo Terra Promessa, non solo Terra Santa e nemmeno solo terra di guerre, scontri e conflitti. Israele è un Paese reale e reale è la sua arte.

Art in Israel: synthesis of cultures Since the foundation - in 1906 - of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Crafts in Jerusalem, Israeli art has sought its identity and is now one of the centers of international debate towards the world. Israel today is a laboratory of synthesis between worldwide cultures, continuosly looking for a west and middle-east balance, and between the local creative expressions and the immigration bias, the most important influence in Israel. Israel art however succeded during its lifetime to find its own essence, with originality. Israeli art often tells about sites, society, political and religious history of the country, proving that difficulties can often increase creativity. But Israeli art more often just represents the creative effort of the artists in front of the big art and human topics. Israel is a land of light, flavours, passions. Crucible of history, languages, religions, cultures, ways of living and thinking. Cradle of history, spring-board of the future. Catalyst of energies, a concentration of spirituality and pragmatism, of tradition and innovation. Guardian of the memory, propeller of ideas. Not just the Promised Land. Not only the Holy Land. Not just the land of milk and honey. Not just biblical landscapes. Neither it is just a land of war, struggles and conflicts. Israel is a real country. And so is its art.
