Abstract:
The Old Jewish Cemetery in Prague is considered one of the most significant historical relics of Prague, not because of its ancient origin, nor the unique art of the tombstones, but for the general impression created by the scattering of the large variety of tombstones made of different materials, in a multitude of styles and shapes. This variety and articulation, almost romantic, strongly affects the more sensitive visitor. The fact that many important persons are buried here makes the cemetery even more popular."
