Abstract:
The main organizer of Nazi propaganda aimed at Britain through the Concordia broadcasts was William Joyce (known as "Lord Haw-Haw"), who emerged in the 1930s as one of the most virulent antisemites in Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists. He left Britain for Germany on the eve of the war, making a career in the English language section of the Nazi "black" (i.e. secret, unofficial) radio stations. The Nazi broadcasts focused on defeatist, anti-capitalist, and antisemitic talks, with emphasis on the "submission" of the British leaders to the Jews. The Jews, foreigners, and Churchill were held responsible for the horrors of the war.
