Abstract:
Briefly discusses Hebrew poems written during and soon after the Holocaust by Sephardi Jews in various countries. Notes that the Holocaust poems written in Muslim countries (e.g. Tunisia, Yemen, and Iraq) were more religious in nature, resembling lamentations, while those written in Eretz Israel were more secular. Many poems were also written about the June 1941 pogrom in Iraq, which is considered part of the Holocaust.
