Abstract:
The aim of this article is to analyze the opinion of Gersonides on natural law. In the first part of the article, we will see that, according to Gersonides, there are rational reasons for all the commandments. Some of these reasons cannot be understood by anyone but Moses because of his higher intellect. By the end of the article, we will see that Gersonides views the commandments of the Torah as eternal, with the exception of certain commandments; through stories, the Torah portrays these commandments as less than ideal and suggests that they will be changed in the future.
