Abstract:
Based on a lecture held in Munich, June 1993. Discusses two seemingly opposite attitudes to Judaism in Luke-Acts: the Jews reject the preaching of Jesus and Paul and call for their deaths, whereas Jesus and Paul do not reject them but emphasize their own adherence to Israel and the continuity between Israel and Christianity. Concludes that Luke held open the vision of a Church in which former Jews and pagans worship side by side.
